Mark Reed the original founder of Reed removals, started in the industry with a part time job for a removals company at the tender age of 15. When Mark left school at 16 he took a full time job with a local removals company to learn the trade. Mark was always eager to learn as much as he could and enjoyed the challenge of moving grand pianos and grandfather clocks.

Mark always believed he could start his own business and could deliver his own exceptionally high standards. With this in mind Mark saved as much as he could and passed his HGV license at 21 and went on to pass his Operators CPC course and be a transport manager at 24.

Then in March 1991, at just 26, Mark decided to start his own company and Reed Removals was born!

With lots of support from local estate agents and solicitors who knew Mark and the high standards he held, Reed Removals went from strength to strength.

Mark was totally focused and saved to buy his first vehicle which was upgraded after 3 years. After just 4 years, the reputation of Reed Removals was spreading, and Mark had to purchase yet another lorry. By year 5, he had 3 vehicles, and the business was flourishing. To expand the service they could offer to their customers they secured a warehouse of their own to offer safe and secure storage for all their customers fitted with modern CCTV and alarms systems.

By 1998 Reed Removals had become so busy that they needed to centralise the logistical operations side of the business and Mark needed to look no further than his fabulous wife Anita. Mark and Anita became the perfect partnership.

In 2005 Reed Removals became a limited company with Mark and Anita as directors.

In the early days advertising in a competitive market was a necessity. As the years have gone by and with many satisfied customers Reed Removals business runs purely on recommendation word of mouth and the same fantastic support, we get from our local estate agents.  

One of Marks proudest moments was moving the Duke of Norfolk, since then we are proud to say his Royal highness has recommended us to so many friends and family.

At the age of 57 with Reed Removals, well established as one of the leading removals companies in the UK, Mark decided it was time to take life a little easier and pass the reigns over to some younger blood.

In 2021, his eldest son Dale and longtime employee Jon formed a fresh new partnership and took over the company. Together they continue to deliver the same exceptional standards that have been in place for over 30 years and with an amazing team around them will continue to do so.
